1. FedEx to Launch Unified Pickup Pricing Structure


On July 9, FedEx announced it will implement a simplified package pickup pricing structure across the U.S. and Canada to improve the customer experience. This move is part of the company’s ongoing effort to merge its Express and Ground delivery networks into a single operation.

 

Effective August 18, the new pricing model will charge a flat fee for both Express and Ground pickups, even if two pickups occur on the same day.

2. SF Express Partners with Changjiu Logistics


On July 9, Anhui Changjiu Logistics Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beijing Changjiu Logistics Co., Ltd., signed a cooperation agreement with Anhui SF Express Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SF Group. The two parties will work closely to develop business in areas including warehousing, supply chain services, cloud warehouse management, specialized transport, and general cargo procurement logistics.

 

According to the agreement, the companies will pursue coordinated development, leveraging Changjiu’s warehousing resources and brand strength to provide SF with competitive regional supply chain services. In return, SF will prioritize the use of Changjiu’s warehousing assets beyond its own facilities, forming a resource-sharing alliance.

3. Amazon Extends Air Cargo Deal with Cargojet


On July 8, Canadian cargo airline Cargojet announced it has extended its air transport agreement with Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services. The new deal runs through March 31, 2029, with an option to renew until 2031. Cargojet will continue to provide Amazon with overnight air cargo and charter services, transporting over 25 million pounds of goods weekly to move parcels from fulfillment centers to final-mile delivery stations.

4. TikTok Shop Hits \$800K in One-Day Sales in Latin America


On July 9, TikTok Shop reported strong growth in the Latin American market. In 2024, the platform launched in Mexico and Brazil, joining other Chinese e-commerce giants such as AliExpress, SHEIN, and Temu in expanding across the region. Temu’s ad spending in Brazil surged 800 times compared to last year, while local giant Mercado Libre is responding with lower logistics barriers.


TikTok Shop implemented a 90-day zero commission policy in Latin America and recorded \$800,000 in sales during a single promotional day in Mexico. It also plans to allow cross-border merchants to run stores independently starting in August.

5. JD Logistics Joins UPU Consultative Committee


On July 9, JD Logistics officially joined the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Consultative Committee as a Gold Member. This membership allows direct communication and participation in shaping the future of the global postal sector. JD is now one of four Chinese delivery companies with a seat on the committee.

6. China Postal Airlines Launches New Cargo Route


On July 9, China Postal Airlines launched a new “Zhengzhou–Seoul” cargo route, initially operating three times per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday), with plans to increase to six weekly flights. This marks the second major route opened in a short period from Henan, following the “Zhengzhou–Luxembourg” line. The airline aims to boost services to Japan, Malaysia, and expand intercontinental routes to New York and Moscow, enhancing its independent international logistics network and contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative.

7. J\&T Express Handles 13.99 Billion Parcels in H1 2025


On July 9, J\&T Express reported its Q2 and H1 2025 operating data. As of June 30, the company handled approximately 7.39 billion parcels in Q2, up 23.5% year-over-year, with a daily average of 81.2 million. In Southeast Asia, Q2 parcel volume grew by 65.9% to 1.69 billion, setting a new quarterly record. For H1 2025, Southeast Asia volume increased by 57.9% to 3.23 billion parcels, with a daily average of 17.7 million.

8. Alibaba.com Launches Trade Assurance in South Korea


On July 9, Alibaba.com officially launched its Trade Assurance service in South Korea. This B2B transaction protection program, already active in China, the U.S., Europe, Southeast Asia, and India, offers payment, shipping, and refund guarantees for buyers if products don’t meet quality standards.

 9. Lazada Philippines Introduces New Cross-Border Policies


On July 9, Lazada Philippines announced it will implement a new “1% SBP Cashback Program” starting July 18, 2025. Sellers participating in SBP throughout July–September will receive 1% cashback on total commissions, settled monthly. The platform is also enhancing coupon subsidies and adjusting base commission rates:


LGS cross-border direct shipping: 10.08%


LFF local fulfillment non-mall sellers: reduced to 5.6%


LazMall sellers: remains at 5.6%

10. Southeast Asia E-commerce Traffic Data for June Released


On July 9, June 2025 web traffic data for Southeast Asia’s e-commerce platforms was released. Lazada and Shopee saw a combined 585.6 million visits, down 1% month-over-month. Lazada’s visits declined 6.6% to 86.84 million, while Shopee remained stable with 498.8 million visits.
