3、November Sets Historic Record for Civil Aviation Freight Volume
On December 15th, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, in November, the entire civil aviation industry transported 719,000 tons of cargo and mail, reaching 102.8% of the level in the same period in 2019. This marks the fourth consecutive month of exceeding pre-pandemic levels, setting a historic record in scale. Regarding international routes, driven by overseas Thanksgiving and "Black Friday" shopping festivals, there was a strong demand for international air cargo transportation, with a 5.4% month-on-month growth in cargo and mail transportation, a 24.1% increase compared to the same period before the pandemic. The average freight rate on international routes was 17.16 yuan per kilogram, showing a 16.6% increase compared to the previous month.
Among international routes, Chinese airlines completed the largest volume of cargo and mail transportation on the China-Europe route, reaching 109,000 tons, accounting for nearly 40%, and growing by 43.2% compared to the same period in 2019. Cargo transportation on the China-North America route continued to recover, reaching 62,000 tons, approaching the level of the same period in 2019, with a recovery rate 9.5 percentage points higher than in October.
