From January to April, the total cargo throughput reached 548,200 tons, up 20.85% year-on-year. Domestic routes handled 279,400 tons, up 23.18% year-on-year; regional routes handled 21,000 tons, up 23.83% year-on-year; and international routes handled 247,700 tons, up 18.09% year-on-year.

On May 15th, a new route from the northern Chinese port of Tianjin to the East Coast of South America commenced operations, aiming to promote trade between China and countries in the region, reducing transit time from 54 days to 40 days. This route, connecting China and South America, is the longest trans-Pacific route and will be operated by China COSCO Shipping, linking Tianjin Port with several ports on the South American East Coast, including Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Itapoá, and Navegantes in Brazil. China COSCO Shipping will deploy 12 vessels with a capacity of 14,000 TEUs, sailing weekly.
