Throughout June, AliExpress will host two major overseas promotions: the Summer Carnival from May 29 to June 7, and the Summer Sale from June 14 to June 23. Each event includes a 3-day warm-up period followed by 7 days of official sales, based on local time.
Merchants should note that they can link their registrations for both promotions. Products registered for one event will automatically be synced to the other, reducing repetitive tasks.
AliExpress has also introduced a series of substantial benefits to ease merchants' burdens:
1. New merchants joining the semi-managed program enjoy a 30-day "learning period" during which they are exempt from JIT order delay penalties.
2. Merchants using JIT for top-selling products will receive 60% of the payment on the listing day.
3. Warehouse-shipped products enjoy a 50% discount on pick-up fees.
4. Merchants meeting platform standards are exempt from JIT pick-up fees during specific promotion periods.
These measures aim to help merchants adapt to changes in cross-border e-commerce, smoothly transition to new models, and upgrade their operations. The first financial report after the launch of the semi-managed service shows that AliExpress orders continue to grow robustly, with Choice orders based on the managed service accounting for over 70% of total orders in April.
AliExpress Introduces Semi-Managed Benefits to Boost Overseas 618 Sales
In preparation for the first overseas 618 after launching the semi-managed service, Cainiao has made significant strides in "light stocking." The extensive use of Cainiao’s intelligent algorithm models enhances the accuracy of stocking predictions, improving the flexibility of the supply chain and increasing package turnover rates by over 50%, enabling merchants to stock more precisely and reduce the pressure of large-scale stocking and cash flow.
Cross-border logistics for the overseas 618 have also been accelerated. Cainiao provides VIP warehouse distribution guarantees for "Global 5-Day Delivery" packages, enabling multiple daily operations within the warehouse during the 618 period. The delivery time for packages to key European markets will be further expedited.
In terms of intelligent order consolidation, direct-shipped products that do not require consolidation can be directly transferred from the collection warehouse to the distribution center for packaging and dispatch, reducing intermediary warehouse steps. Consolidated orders can be processed quickly for even faster shipping during the 618 period.
This year, through semi-managed and overseas managed services, AliExpress has expanded the diversity of products on its platform, including fast fashion apparel and large items like furniture. To enhance its capacity, Cainiao continues to expand warehouse space and fulfillment capabilities for large and special items, particularly with the addition of medium-sized shelving in warehouses.
With the launch of Cainiao’s dedicated cross-border apparel and large-item shipping lines, the variety of cross-border products on AliExpress has been further enriched. The expansion of product categories and new arrivals has reached new heights. Sportswear, furniture, home goods, tools, and equipment are expected to be the new stars of overseas 618 sales, while seasonal summer products such as swimwear, sports and outdoor gear, and festive decorations are also projected to see high growth.
