The opinions propose several measures to expand cross-border e-commerce exports, optimize overseas warehouse layouts, and accelerate the cultivation of new drivers of foreign trade. 2. Temu Officially Launches in Brazil

 

On June 12, Temu officially launched in Brazil, offering consumers up to 90% discounts and free door-to-door delivery services. To celebrate the official launch in Brazil, Temu is providing three types of coupons: a 9% discount for purchases over 175 reais, a 14% discount for purchases over 250 reais, and a 13% discount for purchases over 400 reais.

 

According to a company statement, Temu has set a minimum order amount of 65 reais for each purchase, which includes a 17% ICMS state tax. All purchased goods will be delivered to the door by the postal service for free, and if there is a delay in delivery, Temu will provide a 10 reais voucher as compensation.

3. Kuehne+Nagel Constructs New E-Commerce Delivery Center

 

On June 12, it was reported that Kuehne+Nagel is building a new e-commerce delivery center in EZDubai, the e-commerce hub in the southern part of Dubai. 4. DHL Invests $57.5 Million in New Distribution Center

 

On June 12, logistics giant Deutsche Post DHL announced the relocation of its North Texas distribution center to Irving and a $57.5 million investment in the new center. The new distribution center is strategically located at 5320 West Airport Freeway in Irving, Texas, just six miles from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. As a fully-owned distribution center, DHL has invested $57.5 million in land, building, and automation technology.

 

The center will employ approximately 150 people, handling domestic import and export packages for B2C e-commerce businesses. Equipped with advanced circular sorting machines, it can process 24,000 packages per hour through eight induction lines, doubling the package handling capacity of the original site. The sorter’s accuracy rate is between 97% and 99%, ensuring efficient and high-quality order fulfillment.

5. Cainiao and AliExpress Collaborate to Upgrade Logistics

 

On June 12, it was reported that Cainiao and AliExpress have jointly announced an upgrade in logistics to prepare for the 618 shopping festival in South Korea. More than 30 preferred warehouses in East and South China will directly ship to South Korea, assisting AliExpress merchants in easy shipment and seizing overseas market opportunities. After this logistics upgrade, merchants in North China can stock their goods in warehouses in Weihai and Yantai, Shandong, and quickly reach South Korea via sea and air transport. Merchants in East and South China can stock their goods in nearby preferred warehouses, and Cainiao will handle cross-border transport to South Korea, providing consumers with a multi-layered cross-border logistics solution that delivers within 5-10 days.

6.Number of Chinese Sellers on Ozon Platform Exceeds 100,000

 

On June 12, it was reported that by the end of 2023, the number of Chinese sellers on the Ozon platform had exceeded 100,000. Currently, Ozon has approximately 500,000 registered sellers, with Chinese sellers accounting for about 20%. In 2023, the revenue of Chinese sellers on Ozon more than doubled compared to 2022, and the number of orders increased by more than five times, indicating strong interest from platform users in products made by Chinese manufacturers. 7.FedEx Opens New Cargo Route in Xiamen

 

On June 12, it was reported that FedEx flight FX5161 recently departed from Xiamen Airport, stopping in Seoul, South Korea, before heading to Anchorage, USA. This marks the official opening of the Xiamen-South Korea-Seoul-Anchorage cargo route. Operated by Boeing B777F freighters, this route has one flight per week on Saturdays starting from June 8. This is FedEx's first cargo route from Xiamen to Anchorage.

8. Haikou Airport Opens Third Fifth-Freedom Cargo Route

 

On June 12, it was reported that Haikou Meilan International Airport has launched a new "Haikou-Paris-Bournemouth" fifth-freedom cargo route. This is the third fifth-freedom cargo route opened by Meilan Airport this year and the fifth operated by Hainan Free Trade Port. On June 12, it was reported that since the opening of international cargo routes in April 2023, the international cargo volume at Ezhou Huahu International Airport has exceeded 100,000 tons as of June 8 this year. Ezhou Huahu International Airport is China's first professional cargo hub airport, currently operating 50 domestic cargo routes and 18 international cargo routes. 11. COSCO Shipping Strengthens Container Services to Mexico

12. MSC Launches New Asia-East Coast South America Service

 

On June 12, it was reported that MSC is expanding its coverage of Asian ports through a new service. The company announced the new weekly Carioca service, in addition to its existing Ipanema and Santana services, which connects Asia with the East Coast of South America. The Carioca service in Brazil will expand port coverage by adding stops at Itapoa and Rio de Janeiro, improving connections to Navegantes, Vitória, and the River Plate region through Rio de Janeiro. This will increase the sailing frequency from South Korea and China to southern Brazil.

 

The full rotation sequence is as follows: Busan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Singapore – Rio de Janeiro – Paranagua – Itapoa – Santos – Itaguai – Colombo – Singapore – Busan. The first voyage will depart from Busan on July 19, 2024, with the MSC Yokohama.
