On June 25, the 2024 "Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards" (AFLAS), considered the Oscars of the logistics industry, were held in Shanghai. Cainiao has won the "Best Logistics Service Provider" award for the third consecutive year and topped this year's "Best Logistics Service Provider" warehouse track.
Behind the successive international awards is Cainiao's globally leading international express network construction. According to Alibaba Group's 2024 fiscal year report, as of March 31, 2024, Cainiao's daily cross-border parcel volume has exceeded 5 million packages, surpassing the scale of the world's leading logistics companies.
Over the past year, Cainiao has continuously increased its investment in overseas markets such as Spain, France, Mexico, Brazil, and the Middle East, resulting in significant growth in parcel volumes. Taking Spain as an example, thanks to self-operated distribution stations and innovative logistics solutions, Cainiao has expanded its local delivery services to the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, further optimizing the efficiency of last-mile deliveries on these islands. Currently, Cainiao has increased the number of its self-operated distribution stations in Spain to 19. The parcel volume in the cities of Córdoba, Granada, and Toledo has grown by an average of over 86% in the past nine months.
To meet the high efficiency demands of cross-border e-commerce, Cainiao's "Global 5-Day Delivery" provides overseas consumers with a logistics experience comparable to that of local e-commerce, earning it the reputation of being the global "flash delivery" for cross-border e-commerce. Currently, "Global 5-Day Delivery" covers core markets such as the UK, South Korea, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Saudi Arabia, while "Global 10-Day Delivery" extends to over 100 countries and regions.
In addition to accelerating cross-border deliveries, Cainiao has deeply engaged in industrial belts to provide inclusive logistics solutions for the global expansion of "Made in China." Previously, Cainiao announced the establishment of seven major cross-border merchant centers across the country, with the first one in Yiwu. Within a month, Cainiao, in collaboration with AliExpress, also opened additional cross-border warehouses in Qingdao, Chengdu, and Tianjin industrial belts, launching dedicated cross-border logistics lines for outbound brands, oversized items, and apparel. Additionally, it offers various services to brand merchants, such as multi-platform delivery from warehouses and door-to-door pick-up, further expanding Cainiao's leading advantage in the cross-border logistics market.
"The 2024 Asia Cargo Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards, determined through votes from numerous industry professionals, truly reflect the industry's professionalism," stated Darren Barton, Publisher of Asia Cargo News. It is reported that thousands of industry leaders participated in the voting for these awards, which aim to recognize outstanding institutions demonstrating leadership and stability across dimensions such as service quality, innovation, customer relationship management, and reliability.
As the world's largest cross-border e-commerce logistics company, Cainiao's global smart logistics network spans over 200 countries and regions. In the fiscal year 2023, Cainiao processed over 1.5 billion cross-border parcels, serving more than 133 million cross-border consumers and over 100,000 merchants and brands.
