1. SF Holdings Resubmits Listing Application to Hong Kong Stock Exchange


On July 1, it was reported that SF Holdings Co., Ltd. submitted a listing application to the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with Goldman Sachs, Huatai International, and J.P. Morgan acting as joint sponsors. SF Holdings previously submitted a listing application on August 21, 2023. Based on 2023 revenue, SF Holdings is the largest integrated logistics service provider in Asia and the fourth largest globally. From 2021 to 2023, it was also the fastest-growing among the top four global integrated logistics service providers in terms of revenue growth.

2. Amazon Plans to Establish a New Shipping Channel from China


On July 1, it was reported that Amazon unveiled a plan during an invitation-only meeting with Chinese merchants to launch a new channel on its platform to sell fashion apparel and home products from unknown Chinese brands. The presentation indicated that Amazon will pick up orders directly from China and deliver them to U.S. consumers within 9 to 11 days after the order is placed. So far, Chinese merchants typically transship goods to Amazon's U.S. customers via U.S. warehouses.

3. FedEx Launches Two New International Cargo Routes


On July 1, it was reported that FedEx recently opened new full-cargo international routes in Xiamen and Qingdao and will establish international gateway operation centers in both cities. The Xiamen route will depart from Gaoqi International Airport, stopover in Incheon, South Korea, and continue to Anchorage, Alaska, providing greater capacity for FedEx customers in Xiamen and the Fujian region, and helping to shorten the shipping time for exports to North America. The Qingdao route will depart from Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, stopover in Osaka, Japan, and proceed to FedEx's main transshipment hub city in the U.S., shortening the shipping time for customers in Qingdao and the Shandong region by one day.

4. JD Airlines Opens Nantong-Incheon Cargo Route

 

On July 1, it was reported that a full-cargo flight carrying cross-border e-commerce goods and communication electronics products took off from Jiangsu Nantong Xingdong International Airport and successfully arrived at Incheon International Airport in South Korea. This marks the successful maiden flight of the "Nantong-Incheon" cargo route, jointly operated by JD Airlines and China National Foreign Trade Transportation Corporation (Sinotrans). This significant move represents a new step in the deep cooperation between the two companies in international air cargo and advances JD Airlines' global logistics network layout.

5. Xi'an Airport Launches New International Cargo Route


On July 1, it was reported that Aviastar-TU Airlines opened the "Xi'an⇌Krasnoyarsk" international cargo route, operated with a TU-204 freighter. This is Xi'an Airport's first new international cargo route of the year, with a round-trip cargo capacity of 50 tons. Outbound shipments mainly include mail, general cargo, and cross-border e-commerce goods, while inbound shipments primarily include meat, alcohol, and other specialty products from Russia. Aviastar-TU Airlines operates 10 freighters, including six Boeing B757-200F freighters and four TU-204 freighters, with one aircraft operated by DHL, two by Russian Post, and one by Cainiao.

6. Wuxuan Airport Officially Opens Its First International Cargo Route


On July 1, it was reported that JD Airlines' flight JG2819 landed smoothly, marking the official opening of Wuxuan Airport's first international cargo route (Wuhu⇌Hanoi). 10. Singapore's Shentong No Longer Holds Cainiao Equity


On July 1, it was reported that Shentong Express announced that Singapore's Shentong had transferred its 114,094,165 ordinary shares (0.74% stake) in Cainiao to Ali CN at a price of $0.62 per share, totaling $70.7384 million. Recently, Singapore's Shentong and Ali CN signed a Stock Purchase Agreement. Singapore's Shentong received the delivery payment of $63.6645 million from Ali CN on June 27, 2024. After the transaction, Singapore's Shentong no longer holds any equity in Cainiao.

11. Global E-commerce Sales Expected to Reach $3.9 Trillion in 2024

Additionally, they encourage the development of cross-border e-commerce live streaming, strengthening the cross-border e-commerce supply chain, and encouraging enterprises to participate in domestic and international professional exhibitions. The guidelines also propose guiding enterprises to utilize open air rights policies to consolidate and ship cross-border e-commerce goods in Hainan, aiming to reduce logistics costs and improve transportation efficiency.

13. Boeing Resumes Cargo Aircraft Deliveries to China


According to informed sources, Boeing has been approved to resume deliveries of wide-body passenger aircraft to Chinese airlines after Chinese aviation safety regulators completed a key cockpit component technical review. Boeing is preparing to deliver 787 Dreamliner and 777 freighter aircraft to Chinese customers. As negotiations are confidential, the sources wished to remain anonymous. The sources also indicated that Boeing has not yet been approved to deliver 737 Max aircraft to China, but it is expected that this approval will be restored in the coming weeks.
