 On July 8th, A.P. Møller Holding sold its subsidiary Maersk Supply Service to Norwegian shipping group DOF Group ASA for $1.112 billion. Maersk Supply Service had been on the market for years without finding a buyer. It's notable that since March 2023, when shipping giant Maersk sold Maersk Supply Service to its parent company A.P. Møller Holding, its value has soared, reaching approximately $685 million at the time.

2、SHEIN to re-enter India


On July 8th, according to the Economic Times, Reliance Retail Ventures of India plans to launch products from Chinese fast-fashion brand SHEIN in the coming weeks, both online and in offline stores. On July 8th, CEVA Logistics under CMA CGM is shifting towards a product-based structure, continuing its integration with Bolloré Logistics. As part of this integration, Bolloré Logistics' operations will be renamed CEVA Logistics by the end of 2024. 4. FedEx to expand air freight facilities

 

On July 8th, FedEx signed an agreement with the Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) at the Clark International Airport (CRK) in the Philippines to expand its freight facilities. The facility, which first opened in October 2021, occupies 17,000 square meters. The dedicated cargo handling area covers 630 square meters and can sort up to 9,000 packages per hour, supporting local businesses and e-commerce growth. It's reported that upon completion, the new FedEx facility will be more than twice the size of the current facility, with new aprons and taxiways added.

10. MSC Adjusts Route Services

 

On July 8th, MSC announced that the SWAN route service will transition to SWAN - SENTOSA route service, opening a new channel focused on eastward cargo traffic between Southeast Asia. The updated service includes new call points in Qingdao and Busan for westward connections, while maintaining the current calling order for the Northwest Europe route. 12. Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce Supports Cross-border E-commerce Development

 

On July 8th, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce allocated special funds from the Guangzhou Promoting High-Quality Business Development Project (Cross-border E-commerce Direction) for 2024. They granted 7.1367 million yuan in warehouse rent subsidies to eligible enterprises, reducing operational costs and fostering a favorable business ecosystem to promote the high-quality development of the cross-border e-commerce industry.

 

The supported funds are allocated to enterprises leasing warehouses directly in customs special supervision areas or bonded logistics centers (Type B) for cross-border e-commerce operations, with warehouse areas exceeding 500 square meters. This funding initiative has been consistently disbursed for three years, with a total of 50 enterprises receiving over 30 million yuan in support.
