1. Jiacheng International Logistics Center to be Operational Soon 


On August 1st, Jiacheng International responded to investors' concerns on its investor relations platform, stating that the "Jiacheng International (Hainan) Multifunctional Smart Logistics Center" in Haikou Comprehensive Bonded Zone, Hainan Province, is nearing completion and will be operational soon. The "Tianyun International (Hainan) Smart Processing and Distribution Center" in Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Hainan Province, is expected to be operational by 2025.


 Additionally, the "Jiacheng International (Sanya) Super Cloud Smart World Port" in Sanya City is expected to commence construction in 2024, with a construction period of two years.


Furthermore, Jiacheng International Aviation has launched a B747-400F full cargo flight route from Haikou Meilan International Airport to Dallas, USA. In the future, the company will lease multiple aircraft to handle customer cargo air transport services, including but not limited to charter flights and bulk purchases. Departure points include Guangzhou, Hainan, and Hong Kong airports, with routes to Europe and the United States.

2. Lege Shares Releases 2024 Half-Year Report 


On August 1st, Lege Shares (stock code: 300729.SZ) released its 2024 half-year report. The report shows that in the first half of 2024, the company achieved operating income of 2.427 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 44.64%, and a net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies (excluding non-recurring gains and losses) of 107 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.95%. The net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 160 million yuan, a decrease of 63.86% compared to the same period last year, mainly due to the sale of overseas warehouses in January 2023, which generated significant non-operating income, increasing the asset transfer gains not deducted for transfer income tax by approximately $73.52 million.


As of the end of the reporting period, Lege's overseas warehouses had cumulatively served over 778 export enterprises, including listed companies, and handled over 4 million parcels in the first half of 2024, an increase of over 120% year-on-year. In 2023, Lege's overseas warehouses became one of FedEx's global Top 100 customers. Moreover, Lege's self-built overseas warehouse costs are one-third to one-half of leasing overseas warehouse costs. In the future, Lege Shares will gradually promote the construction of self-built overseas warehouses to form a unique competitive advantage.

3. 2024 Top 25 Most Valuable Global Logistics Brands Released 


On August 1st, the "Brand Finance 2024 Global Top 25 Most Valuable Logistics Brands Report" was officially released. This year's top ten are UPS (1st), FedEx (2nd), DHL (3rd), Japan Railways (4th), Union Pacific Railroad (5th), BNSF Railway (6th), SF Express (7th), China Post (8th), USPS (9th), and Maersk (10th).


Among them, four Chinese companies made it to the top 25: SF Express (7th), China Post (8th), JD Logistics (16th), and MTR (18th).

4. Amazon's Same-Day/Next-Day Delivery Volume Increases by 30% in the First Half of the Year 


On August 1st, it was reported that Amazon's same-day and next-day delivery service has delivered over 5 billion parcels this year, a year-on-year increase of over 30%, setting a record high. Most of these 5 billion items were delivered using Amazon Logistics for independent sellers. Over 60% of sales in Amazon stores come from independent sellers.

5. Cainiao International Express Weihe Preferred Warehouse Phase II Opens


 On August 1st, the opening ceremony of Cainiao Weihe Preferred Warehouse Phase II was held in the Weihe Comprehensive Bonded Zone. It is understood that cross-border merchants shipping to Korea and Japan can enjoy efficient cross-border fulfillment with "next-day delivery" by stocking goods in the Cainiao Weihe warehouse,

 continuing to achieve comprehensive five-day delivery to Korea and Japan. With this logistics upgrade, merchants in North China can stock goods in warehouses in Weihai and Yantai, Shandong, and quickly reach Korea by sea and air; merchants in East and South China can stock goods in nearby preferred warehouses, and Cainiao's cross-border transport will deliver goods to Korea, providing a multi-level cross-border logistics solution with delivery times ranging from 5 to 10 days.

6. YunExpress Launches YunSelect Product 


On August 1st, YunExpress officially launched its YunSelect product. YunSelect focuses on stability, using YunExpress's optimal resources to achieve the fastest delivery through refined operations, from collection to final delivery. It offers convenient shipping with direct terminal labels and updates online tracking within 24 hours. USPS delivers the last mile in the US, Evri in the UK, and DHL in Germany, with high delivery rates. 7. Amazon Cancels Excess Storage Fees 


On August 1st, Amazon announced that starting July 1, 2024, to simplify peak season operations and improve inventory management efficiency, it will cancel excess storage fees. This change applies to sellers in the US, Canada, and Europe. Excess storage fees previously applied to sellers whose inventory exceeded capacity limits. Under the new policy, these sellers will no longer be charged this fee. 9. Shopee Maintains Leading Position in Indonesian Market 


On August 1st, it was reported that according to the "2024 Southeast Asia E-commerce" report released by Singaporean research institution Momentum Works, the total merchandise value (GMV) of the top eight e-commerce platforms in Southeast Asia reached $114.6 billion in 2023, a 15% increase from $99.5 billion in 2022. Indonesia is the largest e-commerce market, accounting for 46.9% of Southeast Asia's GMV, with a transaction value of $53.8 billion. 10. eBay Upgrades Logistics Features

11. China Southern Airlines Increases "Olympic Flights" to Promote Chinese Manufacturing in France 


On August 1st, it was reported that China Southern Airlines CZ8035 flight carried 17 tons of cargo from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to Paris, France. This is the first Paris route flight added by China Southern Airlines during the Olympic season. Starting today, China Southern Airlines will increase the capacity input of the Guangzhou-Paris route from five round trips per week to seven round trips per week, providing a convenient air bridge for Sino-French trade, cultural exchanges, sports, and tourism, and promoting the development of the Olympic economy. 12. Dongguan Secures Land for Another International Airport Air Cargo Center Project 


On August 1st, it was reported that the land plot numbered 2024WT047 in Xidatan Village, Shatian Town, was successfully bid for at a total price of 207.93 million yuan, marking the successful land acquisition for the Hong Kong International Airport Dongguan Air Cargo Center project. The plot covers an area of 138,618.6 square meters, with a floor area ratio not exceeding 4.0, a land use term of 50 years, and a maximum height of 80 meters. 


The development and construction period is two years. The Hong Kong International Airport Dongguan Air Cargo Center project must start construction by August 22, 2025, and be completed by August 22, 2027. The project will mainly construct a high-value logistics center, international express warehouse, freight forwarding warehouse, customs inspection facilities, and supporting office buildings. Through sea-air intermodal transport, goods will be transported back and forth between the air cargo logistics park and Hong Kong Airport.
