10. Global Air Cargo Demand in June Breaks 2021 Record
On August 5, it was reported that the International Air Transport Association (IATA) released its regular report on global air cargo for June 2024. Air cargo demand in June surged by 14.1%, with strong performance in the first half of the year. Cargo volume exceeded that of the same periods in 2023 and 2022, breaking the 2021 record. Global air cargo demand, measured in cargo tonne-kilometers (CTKs*), increased by 14.1% year-on-year in June 2023, achieving double-digit growth for seven consecutive months. Air cargo capacity increased by 8.8% year-on-year in June 2023. Compared to the first half of 2023, total demand in the first half of this year (H1) increased by 13.4%, 4.3% compared to the first half of 2022, and 0.02% compared to the first half of 2021.

11. Maersk to Impose Surcharges on Shipments from Gabon
