4. Cathay Pacific Cargo Volume Increases by 9.6% Year-on-Year in July

On August 20, Cathay Pacific reported that its cargo volume in July reached 126,800 tons, a 9.6% year-on-year increase and a 2% month-on-month increase. This growth builds on the 12% year-on-year increase in cargo tonnage seen in June, driven primarily by demand for Cathay's specialized services, perishables, and e-commerce. Specifically, the growth is reflected in three areas: an increase in the transportation of perishable goods from Southeast Asia and the Southwest Pacific to Hong Kong and Mainland China; an increase in project and oversized cargo shipments using Cathay's dedicated freighters through Cathay's expert services; and continued growth in e-commerce shipments, which remain a key driver of air freight growth in the Greater Bay Area.

5. Amazon AWD Auto-Replenishment Feature Further Upgraded

On August 20, it was reported that Amazon has once again upgraded its AWD auto-replenishment feature. Following the May update, which reduced the replenishment model from three times a week to once a day, sellers can now set auto-replenishment or manual replenishment individually for each SKU, allowing for more efficient inventory management. For instance, sellers can use auto-replenishment for mature products with stable traffic, freeing themselves from cumbersome inventory management tasks. For new products, due to a lack of historical sales data, sellers can choose manual replenishment. Additionally, sellers can now flexibly set the maximum product quantity limit in FBA inventory for each SKU based on their sales plan or actual situation, avoiding overstocking issues due to excessive replenishment.
