1. DHL Launches Cross-Border E-Commerce Solutions


On September 24, it was announced that DHL Global Forwarding has launched various cross-border e-commerce solutions, providing transportation services for cross-border e-commerce goods from China to the global market. A key advantage of this solution is that customers can directly access the European market through DHL's network.  


Features include: end-to-end fast shipping from China to Germany within 4-5 business days, comprehensive customs clearance management, fast and reliable transit times, door-to-door delivery services with receipt confirmation, and 24/7 access for both senders and recipients to track shipments via DHL's customer portal. The e-commerce solution will also offer expedited services to other European markets, the UK, and the US.

2. Sinotrans and SATS Establish New Aviation Hub


On September 24, it was announced that SATS and Sinotrans signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The two companies stated that this collaboration will enable them to establish gateway hubs for Sinotrans' air freight business in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Belgium. Sinotrans currently operates regular charter flights between China, Liège, and Dubai International Airport, and seeks to further expand to other regions. They are also in talks with SATS to manage Sinotrans' new e-commerce center in Hangzhou, China, expected to be ready by 2026.

3.Kuehne+Nagel Unveils New Logistics Center


On September 24, Kuehne+Nagel officially opened its new logistics center in Mantua, northern Italy. The logistics center covers 130,000 square meters, equipped with 20 kilometers of conveyors and a shuttle system that can handle 25 storage channels, with a total capacity of 440,000 units. The center serves 19 countries across Southern and Eastern Europe, processing up to 500,000 orders per day, offering omnichannel order fulfillment services from small e-commerce packages to bulk orders for large retailers.

4.FedEx Launches fdx.com Commerce Platform


On September 24, FedEx launched the fdx.com commerce platform, aimed at empowering e-commerce, medical, and beauty brands. The platform integrates FedEx's logistics insights and smart network to drive demand growth, improve conversion rates, and optimize customer experience. It offers customized services such as enhancing consumer demand with ShopRunner, predicting delivery estimates to increase conversions, providing sustainability insights to assist decision-making, improving brand order tracking to boost customer engagement, and simplifying the returns process.

5.Jiaoyou International to Develop Port Logistics Operations

   

On September 24, Jiaoyou International announced that its subsidiaries, TAZACO INVESTMENT LIMITED and TANCOASTAL PORTS LIMITED, have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tanzania Ports Authority. TAZACO plans to develop and operate the inland port of Tunduma in the Mbeya region, while TPL will operate and develop port logistics and channel management at Tanga Port. This MoU represents another breakthrough in replicating the company’s port-to-port intermodal model in Central and Southern Africa.

6.Amazon Introduces New FBA Return Policy


On September 24, it was reported that Amazon introduced a new product return management option, "Grade and Resell," for independent sellers using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) in the US. Originally available only to retail brands, this optional program is now open to independent sellers, aiming to provide a resale channel and simplify the return process. It helps sellers reduce return losses while offering consumers more affordable second-hand product options.

7.JD International Express Sees 40% Order Growth in September


On September 24, JD International Express reported a significant increase in orders, with more than 40% growth since the beginning of September. Guangdong Province, China, is the main origin of these shipments, while North America and Europe are popular destinations. Data shows that since September, 56% of JD Express orders were shipped to the US and Canada.

8.Amazon 3PL Boosts TikTok’s Growth


On September 24, it was reported that Amazon's 3PL (third-party logistics) business has driven a 70% increase in orders for external sales channels like TikTok, far exceeding the growth rate of its own sales. This indicates TikTok has become a key driver of growth, with its market rapidly rising and annual sales expected to reach billions of dollars.

9. Ozon to Adjust Minimum Bid for "Search Results Promotion"


On September 24, it was announced that Ozon will update the minimum bid for its "Search Results Promotion" starting from October 1, 2024, increasing it by 2.5 percentage points. Sellers can check the changes in their product bids in the "Knowledge Base," and the updated information will appear in the promotion settings from October 1. If a product's bid is above the new value by that date, no changes will occur; if it is below, it will automatically be raised to the new minimum bid.

10.Ningbo Airport Launches Cargo Route to Tokyo


On September 24, flight GI4119, carrying 17.4 tons of cargo, departed from Ningbo Airport to Tokyo, marking the official opening of the Ningbo-Tokyo cargo route. The outbound cargo mainly includes clothing, auto parts, and electronic components, while inbound cargo primarily consists of express parcels. The route operates with a B738 freighter, with plans for three flights per week. This is Ningbo Airport’s second cargo route to Japan.

11.Cross-Border E-Commerce Warehouses Proliferate Along China-Vietnam Border


On September 24, it was reported that Chinese enterprises are heavily investing in building warehouses and sorting centers near the Vietnam border, significantly shortening order delivery times. Goods from China reach Hanoi in 1-2 days and Ho Chi Minh City in 3-5 days. Key locations like Pingxiang in Guangxi and Hekou in Yunnan have become important nodes for cross-border e-commerce logistics, attracting substantial investments. These warehousing investments accelerate the flow of goods and inject new momentum into China-Vietnam trade cooperation.

12.Maersk Cancels PSS on China to Southeast Asia Routes


On September 24, Maersk announced that starting October 1, 2024, it will cancel the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for dry and refrigerated containers from all Chinese ports to Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei.
