On September 25, it was reported that the operational data for China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Air China, Hainan Airlines, Spring Airlines, and Juneyao Airlines had been released. 2. JCH International's One World Super Cloud Smart Port Project Commences  


On September 25, the groundbreaking ceremony for JCH International (Sanya) Super Cloud Smart One World Port was held in Meicun Industrial Park, Tianya District, Sanya City, Hainan Province. The project, based on IoT, big data, cloud computing, AI, and digital logistics, aims to become a leading low-carbon, modern, intelligent, and multi-functional logistics center in Hainan, integrating various functions such as a smart logistics hub, international trade center, and new retail experience center.

3. UPS Launches Saturday Standard Delivery in Eight Countries


On September 25, UPS announced the expansion of its standard delivery service to Saturdays in eight European countries without additional fees. These countries include the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and Spain. Around two-thirds of global shoppers expect to receive goods within 24 hours of ordering, and this service will leverage nearly 40,000 UPS access points, including corner stores with extended evening and weekend hours for flexible parcel pickup.

4. Top E-Commerce Companies by Market Cap in 2024 Released


On September 25, CompaniesMarketCap released the top five global e-commerce companies by market capitalization for 2024. Amazon leads with a market cap of $1.806 trillion, followed by Alibaba at $190 billion. The next three are Pinduoduo ($129.7 billion), MercadoLibre ($102.2 billion), and Shopify ($94.7 billion).

5.SF Express Files for Warehouse Logistics Public REITs


On September 25, SF Express officially filed for the issuance of a warehouse logistics public REIT on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. According to information from the exchange, the fund's name is Southern SF Warehouse Logistics Closed-End Infrastructure Securities Investment Fund, with the specific plan titled Southern Capital-SF Warehouse Logistics Phase 1 Infrastructure Asset-Backed Plan. The type of infrastructure project is warehouse logistics.

6. Amazon Faces Warehouse Overcapacity


On September 25, due to overcapacity at Amazon’s PSC2 warehouse, it began refusing to receive goods starting from September 21. Except for UPS and FedEx, all other vehicles are no longer allowed to unload. Amazon has canceled or delayed all warehouse appointments, with several other warehouses such as ABQ2, PSC2, and more facing similar issues. Some warehouses have begun refusing shipments, while floor appointment times for others like FTW1, IND9, and FWA4 require waiting 5-10 days.

7. Amazon Launches Export Central Tool


On September 25, Amazon announced the launch of the Export Central tool, allowing self-shipping sellers to expand their business to 39 European countries. Part of Amazon's free European Export Program, the tool allows sellers from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands to reach millions of customers in countries without Amazon sites, such as Austria, Portugal, and Greece, without needing to replicate listings or create new accounts.

8. Shopee Thailand Introduces New Policy  


On September 25, Shopee Thailand announced a new policy aimed at reducing delivery failures and refunds. Starting October 3, 2024, buyers will be able to cancel orders before the courier picks up the package without requiring store approval. These orders will not be counted towards the seller's non-fulfillment rate. Currently, buyers can only cancel before shipping, and after shipping, they must obtain seller approval.

9. Wildberries to Build Large Logistics Center


On September 25, the governor of Russia's Amur Oblast signed a cooperation agreement with the founder of e-commerce platform Wildberries to establish a large logistics center in the region's special development zone. The center, spanning 120,000 square meters, will be built in phases and is expected to create over 5,000 jobs. The governor emphasized the importance of the transportation and logistics sectors to the region's development.

10. Maersk Announces Port Disruption Surcharge  


On September 25, Maersk announced a local port disruption surcharge for cargo to and from East Coast U.S. and Gulf Coast ports, effective October 21, 2024, pending approval from Chinese regulators. This surcharge is meant to offset increased operational costs due to supply chain disruptions. CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, and MSC have also announced similar surcharges for outbound and inbound goods.

11.CMA CGM Acquires Brazilian Santos Port Terminal Company


On September 25, French shipping giant CMA CGM announced plans to make a full acquisition offer for Brazilian port terminal operator Santos Brasil. CMA CGM previously agreed to acquire 48% of Santos Brasil’s shares. The company stated that this move is part of its strategy to gain further control over global shipping infrastructure. CMA CGM paid 6.3 billion reais ($1.2 billion) for the 48% stake, valuing Santos Brasil at around $2.5 billion.

12. Shenzhen's Import and Export Value Reaches Record High


On September 25, it was reported that Shenzhen's import and export value for the first eight months of the year reached ¥2.96 trillion, a 25.5% year-on-year increase, setting a record high for the period. Exports reached ¥1.88 trillion, a 26.3% increase, while imports totaled ¥1.08 trillion, up 24.2%.
