1. FedEx Reports Revenue of $22.1 Billion


On March 24, FedEx announced its third-quarter earnings report, showing adjusted earnings per share of $4.51, compared to the expected $4.57. Revenue for the quarter was $22.16 billion, with a net income of $910 million. FedEx expects full-year adjusted earnings per share to be between $18.00 and $18.60. The company also projects capital expenditures for the year at $4.9 billion, while analysts had expected the figure to remain at $5.2 billion.

2. Pinduoduo’s 2024 Revenue Reaches 393.8 Billion Yuan

On March 24, Pinduoduo released its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ending December 31, 2024. The report shows that Pinduoduo's Q4 revenue was 110.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24%. For the full year 2024, Pinduoduo reported revenue of 393.8 billion yuan, up 59% year-on-year, while net profit attributable to Pinduoduo's ordinary shareholders was 112.4 billion yuan, marking a substantial 87% year-on-year increase.

3. TEMU Establishes Large Logistics Center in South Korea

On March 24, TEMU announced that it has signed a long-term lease for a large logistics center in Gurae-dong, Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, aiming to deepen its local business operations. This is the first large logistics center established by a Chinese e-commerce platform in South Korea. The center covers a total area of about 165,000 square meters, with one underground floor and ten above-ground floors, equipped with standard and cold chain facilities. The center will be operated by Lotte Global Logistics, a subsidiary of Lotte Group. TEMU is considering using this center as its headquarters in South Korea. With the center in operation, delivery times for direct-purchase goods from China on TEMU are expected to be significantly reduced, enhancing the shopping experience for consumers.

4. Kuehne+Nagel Partnership Speeds Up Import Clearance

On March 24, Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a subsidiary of Singapore’s SATS Group, launched a pilot project in collaboration with global logistics provider Kuehne+Nagel to accelerate import clearance at Frankfurt Airport. The pilot involves using a control tower to coordinate the movement of trucks between WFS's FCS Frankfurt cargo handling facility and the freight forwarder's gateway warehouse. The EFFH team is also reviewing the implementation and optimization of e-commerce and freight forwarding products across all WFS locations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

5. JD Group Signs New Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park Project

On March 24, JD Group’s Vice President Wei Xiaohui visited Wuxi High-tech Zone, where he attended a signing ceremony for JD Group's Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park project. This marks the city’s first cross-border e-commerce industrial park. The project will leverage Wuxi’s status as a national import trade promotion and innovation demonstration zone and cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone, combining JD International's existing businesses in Wuxi Bonded Zone. The aim is to attract leading enterprises in JD’s cross-border e-commerce business and accelerate the cultivation of local branded products. Over the next five years, the project is expected to bring in no fewer than 10 leading cross-border e-commerce companies from JD’s upstream and downstream industries, contributing at least 10 billion yuan to cross-border e-commerce output and fostering the integration of "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belts" with both domestic and foreign trade.

6. Wildberries Opens B2B Transaction Test Channel

On March 24, Wildberries opened its B2B transaction test channel for all Russian sellers. Partners can now represent their legal entities or sole proprietorships to sell and purchase goods on the platform. As a B2B buyer, users can simply click the “Buy as a Company” button in their profile to switch to the “Wildberries for Business” platform. Two sales modes are offered: “from Wildberries warehouse” and “marketplace” (sales from the seller's warehouse).

7. Shopee Brazil’s Consumer Day Sales Exceed Last Year's Black Friday by Over 10%

On March 24, it was reported that during this year’s Consumer Day (March 15), Shopee Brazil’s sales exceeded last year’s Black Friday by more than 10%, making it the strongest sales day of the first half of the year. Shopee orders accounted for more than 90% of the market’s total order volume. The top-selling categories on the day were automotive and motorcycle products, electronics, and lifestyle goods. Mondial fans alone sold more than 50,000 units, while video games, smartphones, and smart bracelets also performed well. 8. South China Postal Aviation International Hub Officially Launched

On March 24, 14 tons of cargo and mail passed through the newly opened South China Postal Aviation International Hub Center and were flown to Southeast Asia, marking the official launch of the center. The hub spans 10,300 square meters and can handle an average of 200 tons of cargo per day, significantly enhancing Guangzhou Baiyun Airport's competitiveness as an international hub and promoting the development of international freight and postal express hubs.

9. Cathay Pacific Reports 119,700 Tons of Cargo and Mail Transported in February

On March 24, Cathay Pacific reported that it had transported 253,300 tons of cargo and mail in the first two months of the year, an increase of 12.8% year-on-year. In February alone, cargo and mail volume reached 119,700 tons, up 11.8% year-on-year, driven mainly by an increase in electronics shipments. Freight tonne kilometers (FTK) increased by 3.5%, while the cargo load factor decreased by 1.4 percentage points year-on-year to 57.8%.

10. CMA CGM Bids to Acquire Belgian Air Cargo Business

On March 24, it was reported that French shipping group CMA CGM had submitted a bid to acquire Belgium’s air cargo business after an earlier takeover attempt by Belgian Airlines was withdrawn. A hearing is set for April 3, 2025. CMA CGM’s proposal includes acquiring the cargo business, retaining the brand, and keeping four aircraft. The court will review the proposal this month.

11. CMA CGM to Impose New West Africa Surcharge

On March 24, CMA CGM announced that it would impose a peak season surcharge (PSS) of $700 per refrigerated container from Mauritania to West Africa, effective April 1. Additionally, from April 1, CMA CGM will apply a $100 emergency business recovery surcharge on all cargo shipped from Northern Europe, the West Mediterranean, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and North Africa (including Morocco) to West Africa, with a similar surcharge applying to cargo from North America and Latin America to West Africa starting April 20, 2025.

12. Maersk Signs Eight-year Partnership with DP World

On March 24, it was reported that Maersk had signed an eight-year strategic partnership agreement with global terminal operator DP World. The two companies will deepen cooperation at DP World-operated terminals in Santos Port, Brazil, and jointly expand their business. Under the agreement, Maersk will launch six new routes in the first year of cooperation, with eight weekly stops at Santos Port. As DP World’s capacity increases, Maersk plans to increase its routes to seven, with ten weekly stops by 2026.
