2. China Southern Airlines Logistics Adds a New "Wing"
On March 28, a Boeing 777F freighter with registration number B-226D successfully arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport from Seattle, USA, marking China Southern Airlines Logistics’ second new freighter of 2025. With this addition, the company's B777F fleet now totals 19 aircraft, the largest in the country. In the upcoming 2025 summer season, China Southern Airlines Logistics plans to operate over 80 regular flights per week, with a route network covering traditional markets in Europe and the U.S. as well as emerging markets in the Middle East and Central America.

3. FedEx Orders 18 Freighters
On March 28, FedEx announced it had ordered eight Boeing 777 freighters and 10 ATR72-600 turboprop freighters. Three of the planes are scheduled for delivery in 2026, with five more arriving in 2027. Earlier this quarter, the company also placed an additional order for two of the same aircraft models. At the same time, FedEx announced it would delay the retirement of its MD-11 freighter fleet, originally planned for 2028, until the end of 2032. The company intends to replace the MD-11s with more fuel-efficient aircraft like the B777F. Currently, FedEx operates 57 B777 freighters, with 11 more on order (including this latest order). Its MD-11 fleet comprises 37 planes, with 17 still on order (including this new batch).

4. UPS Launches New Global Checkout Service
On March 28, UPS announced the launch of its new Global Checkout service for online shoppers, allowing customers to view all applicable taxes and fees on their shopping cart items at checkout. This aims to address the issue of unexpected international duties upon package arrival, especially as trade tensions escalated during former U.S. President Trump’s trade war. 5. J&T Express Achieves Global Profitability in 2024
On March 28, J&T Express announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it achieved global profitability in 2024, securing the number one position in several countries. Parcel volume in Southeast Asia increased by 41% year-over-year, while volume in new markets in the Middle East and Latin America grew by 22%. In the Chinese market, both volume and profitability grew, with a 29% year-over-year increase in parcel volume, and the company began generating profits. During the 2024 Double Eleven shopping festival, J&T handled over 100 million parcels in a single day for the first time globally. 6. SF Logistics REIT Completes Fundraising

According to the latest data released on March 5, 2025, the assets to be issued by the SF Logistics REIT include projects in Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Hefei, held by Shenzhen SF Aviation Real Estate Management Co., Ltd., Wuhan Fengtai E-commerce Industrial Park Management Co., Ltd., and Hefei Fengtai E-commerce Industrial Park Management Co., Ltd. These three projects mainly operate as distribution centers, with over 50% of their leasable area dedicated to such operations.

7. Amazon's New Logistics Site in Spain Begins Operations
On March 28, Amazon announced that its new logistics site, DQA3, located in Malaga, Spain, had recently started operations to optimize the region's order delivery services. The site covers over 10,000 square meters and already employs more than 70 people. On March 28, it was reported that China’s cross-border e-commerce import and export volume reached 2.63 trillion yuan ($369 billion), an increase of 10.8% year-over-year. Export performance was particularly strong, with export revenue reaching $180.7 billion, ranking second globally, only behind the U.S.’s $684.5 billion. Platforms like Tmall and AliExpress were major contributors to China’s high export volume. In 2024, nearly 4% of Tmall's $498 billion GMV came from exports to markets outside of China, with Singapore, South Korea, and Japan being the main export destinations. AliExpress saw even more remarkable results, with over 97% of its $61.2 billion GMV coming from overseas markets. Tmall holds a significant presence in Southeast Asia, while AliExpress has strong influence in Western countries like the U.S., France, and Spain.

12. TecPlata Enhances Connectivity with Asia through ONE’s New Service
On March 28, Ocean Network Express (ONE) announced the inclusion of TecPlata, operated by ICTSI, in two of its new services, which are expected to strengthen the terminal’s connectivity with Asian markets. ONE has integrated the Buenos Aires terminal into its new East Coast South America Express 2 (SX2) service, connecting major ports in the Far East with key hubs on the East Coast of South America.
