1. TEMU Expands Semi-Managed Model to a New Market  


April 2 – Following the launch of its first semi-managed site in Southeast Asia in February, Temu has further expanded its presence by officially launching its Malaysia site. Merchants can now register and list products, reinforcing Temu’s strategic expansion in the Southeast Asian market. The region’s cross-border e-commerce sector is experiencing explosive growth, driven by increased internet penetration, a rising young consumer base, and an expanding middle class. As a key economic hub in the region, Malaysia has become a highly contested market for cross-border e-commerce platforms like Temu due to its stable political environment, open market policies, and active consumer base.

2. FedEx Enhances International Export Services in One Region  


April 2 – FedEx has announced service upgrades for international exports from Shijiazhuang and Baoding, aiming to improve export services to Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Key highlights of the upgrade include the introduction of same-day export flights to Europe and Asia-Pacific destinations, as well as a one-day reduction in transit times for shipments to Asia-Pacific countries.

3. TikTok Sale Agreement to Be Finalized by Saturday  


April 2 – The U.S. government has announced that a sale agreement with TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, will be finalized by April 5. According to Reuters, private equity firm Blackstone is considering making a small minority investment in TikTok’s U.S. business. Blackstone is evaluating the possibility of joining ByteDance’s existing non-Chinese shareholders, who are currently raising capital to bid for TikTok’s U.S. operations and become leading contenders. U.S. Vice President Vance has stated that he expects a fundamental ownership agreement to be reached by April 5.

4. SF Express Upgrades International Express Services to Australia and India  


April 2 – SF Express has announced a comprehensive upgrade to its international express services for Australia and India. This enhancement is achieved through the addition of customs clearance ports, optimization of air freight routes, and improvements to last-mile delivery networks. Overall transit times have been reduced by 2–3 days, extending SF Express’s service advantages in Asia to South Asia and the Southern Hemisphere. To celebrate the launch, SF Express is offering promotional discounts, including a 25% discount on international express shipping to Australia for individual customers.

5. AliExpress Strengthens European Logistics Partnership with a Logistics Giant  


April 2 – Dennis Kollmann, the newly appointed CEO of German logistics giant Hermes, recently visited Hangzhou to discuss collaboration with Alibaba’s cross-border e-commerce platform, AliExpress. The discussions focused on optimizing logistics networks and enhancing localized services in Europe, particularly in Germany. This marks AliExpress’s deeper expansion into the European market. Germany, as Europe’s largest economy, has been one of AliExpress’s fastest-growing markets in recent years and was among the first countries to join the “Global 5-Day Delivery” program.

6. eBay UK Expands Automatic Positive Feedback Feature to All Sellers  


April 2 – eBay UK has announced its April 2025 seller updates, including an expansion of the automatic positive feedback feature. Previously available only to sellers with low feedback counts or infrequent transactions, the feature will now be extended to all UK sellers. However, private sellers must use the "Simple Delivery" option to qualify. Starting in late April, orders that include tracking, arrive on time, and have no buyer issues will automatically receive positive feedback. These ratings will count toward sellers’ overall scores and be added to their profiles after seven days.

7. Zhongda Gateway Launches Zhengzhou-Budapest Cargo Route  


April 2 – Zhongda Gateway International Logistics has launched a new cargo route connecting Zhengzhou and Budapest. The route will be operated by One Air’s B747-400F freighter with four weekly flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This route mainly serves cross-border e-commerce shipments. It is the fifth all-cargo route opened by Zhongda Gateway this year, following new connections to Istanbul, Zurich, Liège, and Madrid. The company is rapidly expanding its "Air Silk Road" network.

8. Huahu International Airport Surpasses 10,000 Inbound and Outbound Flights  


April 2 – Over the past two years (April 1, 2023 – March 31, 2025), Ezhou Huahu International Airport, Asia’s first professional cargo hub, has handled a total of 10,953 international cargo flights and processed 387,100 tons of import and export cargo. The airport's network now covers 42 destinations across Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa, including key Belt and Road Initiative countries, reaching 28 countries and regions. In the first quarter of this year, the airport handled 2,943 international cargo flights and processed 105,600 tons of cargo, representing a year-on-year increase of 460% and 430%, respectively.

9. China Opened 58 New International Cargo Routes in Q1  


April 2 – In March alone, China launched 21 new international air cargo routes. Throughout the first quarter of 2025, China’s international air cargo network continued to expand, with 58 new routes added by March 31. These new routes include 27 to Asia and 25 to Europe, with more than 123 additional weekly round-trip flights. The primary cargo types on these routes include cross-border e-commerce goods, fresh produce, electronics, auto parts, and apparel.

10. COSCO Shipping Establishes New Company in Brazil  


April 2 – COSCO Shipping has officially launched its new Rio de Janeiro branch, reflecting its commitment to the Brazilian and South American markets. The move is part of COSCO’s broader strategy to expand in Latin America. In recent years, COSCO has increased its route density at Rio de Janeiro Port and expanded inland transport channels. Through integrated services covering ports, railways, trucking, and bonded warehouses, COSCO is providing enhanced logistics solutions for trade between China and Brazil.

11. DP World Completes Full Acquisition of Swiss Logistics Giant  


April 2 – Swissterminal AG has announced the completion of its full integration with DP World, marking a new milestone in their five-year collaboration. Swissterminal provides terminal operations, warehousing, and intermodal transport services via rail and barge, linking Switzerland, southern Germany, and France to major European ports. With DP World’s global supply chain expertise, Swissterminal will gain access to more comprehensive end-to-end logistics solutions. Despite organizational adjustments, Swissterminal’s branding, services, and billing structure will remain unchanged, ensuring continuity for customers and partners.
