1. Amazon introduces several new features for its Buy with Prime service


On November 16, Amazon announced the launch of several new features for its "Buy with Prime" service to attract more traffic and win over consumers during the holiday season. In the latest update, Amazon allows shoppers to track their Buy with Prime orders through their Amazon account on the website or mobile app.


Additionally, shoppers can view their order history and access 24/7 online customer service for purchases made from Buy with Prime merchants. Amazon has also expanded return locations, allowing shoppers to return items purchased through Buy with Prime at locations outside of Amazon, without the need for shipping labels and packaging boxes.

2. Forever 21 to launch on SHEIN this Thursday local time


On November 16, it was announced that Forever 21 will launch on the SHEIN website on Thursday, offering over 300 of Forever 21's best-selling items, as well as 126 exclusive co-branded styles with SHEIN. Last month, Authentic signed an agreement with SHEIN for the Forever 21 brand. Under the terms of the collaboration, SHEIN will design, manufacture, and distribute a range of Forever 21 apparel and accessories, including activewear, sportswear, and swimwear. The collection will be exclusively available on SHEIN's websites in the US, parts of Europe, and Australia.

3. DHL Express puts expanded Central Asia Hub into operation


On November 16, DHL Express held the inauguration ceremony for the expanded Central Asia Hub in Hong Kong. Since the establishment of the Central Asia Hub in 2004, DHL Express has invested a total of 562 million euros, demonstrating DHL's strong confidence in the growing opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region and its commitment to helping Hong Kong develop into an international aviation hub.


The Central Asia Hub has direct access to both airside and landside and is the only dedicated and purpose-built air express cargo facility at Hong Kong International Airport. The expanded hub's operational area has increased by 50% to 49,500 square meters and features an automated sorting system, boosting the peak handling capacity by nearly 70% to 125,000 parcels per hour. Additionally, at full capacity, the hub is expected to handle 1.06 million tons of cargo annually, a sixfold increase compared to when it first started operations in 2004.

4. Maersk launches instant air freight quote service


On November 16, Maersk announced the launch of its new online air freight booking service, Instant Pricing, on its website Maersk.com. Customers can log in to get air freight prices for 70,000 trade lanes across more than 90 countries/regions, quickly receive booking confirmations, and customize quotas according to their business needs.

5. SF Express and ZTO Express listed among China's Best Brands for 2023


On November 16, global brand strategy consulting and design firm Interbrand released the "2023 China Best Brand Ranking". This year's listed brands have a total value of 3.36767 trillion yuan, showing a stable growth trend compared to last year. The ranking is now in its 15th edition. According to the list, Tencent, Alibaba, and China Construction Bank retained the top three spots with values of 877.921 billion yuan, 687.167 billion yuan, and 191.084 billion yuan, respectively.


Among courier companies, SF Express ranked 26th with a value of 16.907 billion yuan, and ZTO Express ranked 43rd with a value of 8.163 billion yuan. In the e-commerce platform sector, besides Alibaba, Pinduoduo ranked 21st with a value of 23.625 billion yuan, and JD.com ranked 22nd with a value of 21.809 billion yuan.

6. JD Logistics Q3 Revenue Reaches 41.7 Billion Yuan, Net Profit Increases by 89% Year-on-Year


On November 16, JD Logistics released its financial report for the third quarter of 2023. During this period, JD Logistics achieved high-quality growth in both revenue and profit, with total revenue reaching 41.7 billion yuan, up 16.5% year-on-year. Revenue from external customers amounted to 29.8 billion yuan, further increasing the proportion of external customer revenue to 72%. Through improvements in supply chain operational efficiency and cost optimization, JD Logistics' Q3 adjusted net profit reached 840 million yuan, up 89% year-on-year, marking the highest profitability for the same period since its listing.


Currently, JD Logistics operates nearly 90 bonded warehouses, direct mail warehouses, and overseas warehouses worldwide, with a total management area of nearly 900,000 square meters. JD Logistics has established overseas warehouses in 15 countries and regions including the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Over the next three years, JD Logistics plans to build a global supply chain logistics network covering major countries around the world, comprising overseas warehouse networks, international transfer hubs, local distribution networks in overseas countries, and cross-border trunk transportation networks.

7. Shopee Q3 Revenue Reaches $2.42 Billion


On November 16, Shopee's parent company, Sea, released its financial report for the third quarter ending September 2023. The data shows that Sea's total revenue for the reporting period was $3.31 billion, exceeding the general expectation of $3.17 billion. Shopee's revenue reached $2.42 billion, surpassing the expected $2.18 billion. Additionally, the report highlighted Shopee's order volume and GMV data, sending positive signals to the market. In the third quarter, Shopee's order volume was 2.2 billion, up 13.2% year-on-year and 23.6% quarter-on-quarter. GMV was $20.1 billion, up 5.1% year-on-year and 11.2% quarter-on-quarter.

8. CMA CGM Announces Upgrades to Asia-Africa Route Network


On November 16, CMA CGM announced that starting from the first week of December, it will revamp its routes between Asia and West and South Africa. The WAX service will now focus on Nigeria, Ghana, and Ivory Coast, while the WAX3 service will continue to serve Togo and Nigeria. Additionally, the Shaka service will provide transshipment services to Cape Town via Port Louis. The Marseille-based shipping company stated that the updated services will offer direct connections from Northern, Central, and Southern China to major West African markets including Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Cameroon.
