This conference invited Lin Bao, President of the Guangdong Cross-border E-commerce Association; Guo Dong, CEO and Director of 4PX; as well as over 200 industry guests and cross-border sellers from companies like Amazon, Temu, TikTok Shop, and Yihai Chuangteng. Together, they discussed the new challenges and opportunities for Chinese brands going global.

1. Strong Momentum in China's Cross-border E-commerce Development

In today's world, global trade remains vibrant. North America, as the most important consumer market globally and China’s largest trade partner, has always been a hotbed for cross-border e-commerce. Its changes, developments, opportunities, and challenges have garnered significant attention from all parties.

In his opening speech at the conference, Lin Bao, President of the Guangdong Cross-border E-commerce Association, acknowledged the positive impact of the conference on industry communication and development. He stated, "The international situation is complex, and future crises are unpredictable.

However, the momentum of China's cross-border e-commerce development remains strong. In the future, various platforms and service providers will deeply integrate to empower the development of cross-border e-commerce industrial belts, driving the global expansion of China's manufacturing sector."

According to data released by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, in the first half of 2024, the province's cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reached RMB 427.34 billion. From 2015 to 2023, Guangdong's cross-border e-commerce surged from RMB 11.3 billion to RMB 843.3 billion, with an average annual growth rate of 71.4%. It now accounts for over 10% of the province's total foreign trade and more than one-third of the national cross-border e-commerce import and export volume.

Guo Dong, CEO and Director of 4PX, conducted an in-depth analysis of global trade and cross-border supply chain trends during his keynote presentation.

In today's world, trade between major economies remains closely interconnected. China is a leading global exporter and North America's largest trading partner.

With new opportunities come new challenges. Strict compliance regulations, difficulties in e-commerce operations, low brand recognition, and talent shortages are unavoidable obstacles on the path to going global.

2.How Can Manufacturing Enterprises Build Brand Strength in Overseas Markets?

As competition becomes increasingly homogenized, branding can inject new vitality into enterprises. The roundtable forum on "Risks and Opportunities for Chinese Enterprises in Cross-border Expansion," held during this conference, focused on how to help businesses build brand strength. Insights were shared by Liu Xuefei, CEO of Minsen; Han Dong, Senior Vice President of TEMU; Lin Bao, President of the Guangdong Cross-border E-commerce Association; Wei Tao, COO of Yihai Chuangteng; Qin Zhen, Partner at Urtopia Jiaxing Zhelun Technology; and Fan Menghui, Deputy General Manager of Foshan International Land Port.
