The 2024 AliExpress Double 11 is currently in full swing. To help cross-border sellers capture the biggest business growth opportunity of the year, AliExpress, together with Cainiao, has upgraded its logistics fulfillment services. The "Global 5-Day Delivery" international express service has expanded to 14 countries, including new additions like Italy, Poland, and Japan, accelerating coverage across Europe, America, and Asia.
This year, AliExpress has doubled its investment for Double 11, while working with Cainiao to ensure efficient and reliable logistics services, aiming to create the largest and best customer experience ever for an overseas Double 11. Over the past two years, with Cainiao’s support, AliExpress has shortened global average delivery times by 50%, with key countries now achieving delivery times of 5-7 days.
At the previous seller kickoff event, AliExpress announced that this year’s Double 11 will include a 3-day pre-sale from November 8 to November 10, followed by an 8-day official sales period from November 11 to November 18. Black Friday will also have a 3-day pre-sale from November 19 to November 21, with official sales running from November 22 to December 3 (all times are based on the local time zones of key countries).
For AliExpress sellers, this will be the most predictable Double 11 in recent years. AliExpress has provided a clear operational direction for sellers across different product categories. The cross-border stock model emphasizes a "dual-track drive": "seller self-operation POP + fully-managed cross-border services." The self-operation (POP) track is significantly elevated, focusing on product launches and category richness, while the fully-managed service focuses on small, standard items. Marketing channels like “N items for N price” and "Super Explosive Days" will enhance pricing competitiveness.
For local inventory, the "overseas warehousing" model is mainly used, ideal for sellers of large, high-value goods stored abroad. This model offers flexible fulfillment options to enhance logistics speed and product variety, supported by subsidies worth billions, helping Chinese brands go global with high quality.
As a global leader in e-commerce logistics, Cainiao will fully ensure the logistics fulfillment speed and experience for this year’s AliExpress Double 11. By expanding warehouse capacities, securing transport capacities in advance, and enabling real-time tracking of last-mile deliveries, Cainiao is improving the overall supply chain. These measures, along with tightly integrated processes from warehouses to customs clearance, transportation, and final delivery, will ensure that key global markets receive shipments 3 to 10 days faster, making Double 11 packages reach overseas consumers even more quickly.
Cainiao began building its global smart logistics network as early as 2017, and launched the cross-border delivery product "5 USD 10-Day Delivery," reducing the industry standard delivery time from 30-60 days to just 10 days. In September 2023, Cainiao and AliExpress first rolled out the "Global 5-Day Delivery" service in Spain, the Netherlands, the UK, and other countries. The service has since expanded to cover Europe, America, and Asia, earning the trust of cross-border merchants and consumers. According to Alibaba’s 2024 financial report, Cainiao’s daily cross-border parcel volume has exceeded 5 million items in the international logistics sector.
