Users of Pitney Bowes' ShipAccel platform now enjoy discounted shipping, with plans to extend this benefit to other services by year-end. Visiture's platforms, including ShipStation, Stamps.com, and ShipEngine, will also offer discounts to users starting in November via their FedEx account plan. Pitney Bowes noted that ShipAccel customers could receive up to a 90% discount. FedEx aims to attract more small business customers through this collaboration by simplifying the shipping experience and reducing the gap with UPS in the SME market. Since 2020, FedEx has partnered with multiple platforms to offer discounts to expand its small business user base.

On November 7, Fortune Magazine published its "2024 Most Admired Chinese Companies All-Star List" and "2024 Most Admired Chinese Companies Industry Star List." SF Express was the only company in the transportation, shipping, and logistics sector to make the all-star list, ranking 2nd overall. This marks SF Express's eighth consecutive year on the list. Additionally, in the transportation, shipping, and logistics industry star list, SF Express, Cainiao, Sinotrans, and Yunda made the cut. In the related e-commerce sector, companies like Alibaba, JD.com, and Meituan also made the list.

3. JD Logistics Market Value Reaches HKD 100 Billion Again in October

 

On November 7, it was reported that JD Logistics (HK02618) continued its upward trend from September, possibly benefiting from the "interconnectivity" announcement with Taobao and Tmall. It was the only one among the top three companies to see an increase in market value. JD Logistics, which saw its market value rise by nearly 50% in September, further increased by 12.86% in October, pushing its market value back to HKD 100 billion. The continuous rise in JD Logistics’ market value is likely tied to the “interconnectivity” announcement. On October 16, JD Logistics announced a partnership with Taotian Group, meaning JD Logistics will be fully integrated into the Taobao and Tmall platforms, allowing merchants to choose JD Logistics as their service provider. The collaboration will not only focus on e-commerce express services but also provide Taobao and Tmall merchants with JD’s integrated supply chain solutions and JD Freight services.

The service, operated by AeroLogic, co-owned by DHL Express, will run a weekly global route from Lufthansa's Frankfurt headquarters to these destinations.

6.Amazon to Become the First Client of Maersk’s New Warehouse

 

On November 7, it was reported that AP Moller-Maersk has opened its first bonded warehouse in Vietnam, located in the SLP Industrial Park of Nam Dinh Vu in Haiphong province. Managed by Maersk Contract Logistics, the warehouse represents a significant milestone in Maersk's expansion in northern Vietnam, particularly amid growing import and export demands. The warehouse is strategically positioned along northern Vietnam’s major logistics corridor in Haiphong, a key logistics hub within the region's international transport network. It connects to Maersk's existing distribution center in Haiphong and the future Lach Huyen terminal being developed with APM Terminals and Hateco.

7.Shopee Issues New Policy to Regulate False Advertising of Product Specifications

 

On November 7, Shopee's cross-border store announced a new policy regarding false advertising of camera and photography products, specifically pixel-related claims. According to the new regulations, Shopee requires sellers to ensure that the information on the product itself, the product detail page, packaging, and any related documents (such as manuals) is completely consistent, particularly key parameters like pixel resolution. If discrepancies are found (such as mismatched data on product labels or manuals), warehouses will initiate return processing.

8. Coupang Q3 Revenue Reaches $7.9 Billion

 

On November 7, South Korean e-commerce platform Coupang released its financial report for Q3 2024. As of September 30, Coupang's revenue for the third quarter reached $7.9 billion, a 27% year-over-year increase. Adjusted EBITDA was $340 million, with a profit margin of 4.4%. Gross profit reached $2.3 billion, up 45% year-over-year, though net profit decreased by $21 million to $64 million.

9.Shopify Now Includes Duties in Product Prices

 

On November 7, Shopify announced improvements to its "Company Details" and "Company Location Details" pages, making the distinction between custom and standard information more apparent. Additionally, for merchants using Managed Markets, particularly for one-page checkout, Shopify has introduced a duty-inclusive pricing feature. When enabled, product prices on the checkout page will no longer separately display duty fees, as they will be included in the product price.

12. Customs Introduces New Policies to Boost Cross-Border E-Commerce Exports  

 

On November 7, China’s General Administration of Customs introduced several measures to further promote cross-border e-commerce exports. These include the cancellation of overseas warehouse registration for cross-border e-commerce export enterprises, simplification of export document submission procedures, expansion of the pilot program for “inspection before shipment” for consolidated cargo, and the promotion of cross-border e-commerce retail export cross-district return management models. These policies have positively impacted related businesses, simplifying operations, optimizing procedures, improving logistics efficiency, and streamlining return processes.
