1. China Cargo Airlines Completes IPO on Shenzhen Stock Exchange


On December 26, China Cargo Airlines Co., Ltd. announced the results of its initial public offering (IPO) and listing on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Main Board. The stock is abbreviated as "China Cargo Airlines." The offering includes strategic placement, offline issuance, and online issuance, with a price of 2.30 yuan per share and a total issuance of 1.321 billion shares, representing about 11.00% of the company's post-issuance total shares. After the public offering, the company's total share capital will be 12.011 billion shares, and if the overallotment option is fully exercised, the total share capital will be 12.209 billion shares.

2. Lufthansa's Acquisition Approved


On December 26, the EU officially approved Lufthansa Group's acquisition of ITA Airways. Lufthansa outbid competitors EasyJet, Air France-KLM, and International Airlines Group to acquire ITA. This marks a significant integration of the two airlines and signals a new competitive landscape in the European aviation market. Lufthansa and ITA will optimize their route networks and coordinate flight schedules to improve operational efficiency.

3. JD Logistics' New Overseas Warehouse in Japan


On December 26, JD Logistics officially launched its first self-operated overseas warehouse in Tokyo, Japan. This warehouse will provide integrated e-commerce and supply chain services to Japanese and South Korean companies, as well as Chinese brands expanding into these markets. In the next 2-3 years, JD will continue to build multiple self-operated overseas warehouses in the region and establish international shipping routes, aiming to create a "2-3 day delivery" service network across the Asia-Pacific region.

4. YTO Launches International Road-Air Combined Transport Service


On December 26, YTO announced its new international road-air combined transport service. Since November, YTO has increased the frequency of this service from two trips per week in August to daily departures. Cargo is transported by road from domestic hubs to major airports in Central Asia (Tashkent, Astana), then airfreighted to Europe, the U.S., Canada, Brazil, South Africa, and other destinations. This service offers flexibility compared to direct airfreight, allowing the addition of trips as needed and customizable routes. The total transit time is within 13 days, similar to slower airfreight services, but with 40% lower costs.

5. Amazon Denies Forcing Sellers to Choose Between Platforms


On December 26, rumors circulated on social media that Amazon had asked its top 20 sellers by sales volume to choose between Amazon and Temu, after the sudden closure of Anker’s store on Temu. Amazon has responded, stating that these claims are false, and sellers are free to decide their own sales strategies and product pricing on Amazon and other platforms.

6. Temu Offers $0.5 Cash Subsidy Per Order


On December 26, Temu announced that merchants on its U.S. site would receive a $0.5 cash subsidy per order when using its online ordering system. The subsidy, with no upper limit, will run from January 1, 2025, to March 31, 2025, and is available to merchants who meet certain criteria during a specific period in December.

7. Shopee Updates Seller Requirements Across All Sites


Starting in January 2025, Shopee will update its requirements for marketplace sellers across all sites. Key metrics include: Chat response rate (>=85%), no penalties in the last 4 weeks, store rating (>=4.6), at least 10 products, presale product ratio (<5%), unfulfilled order rate (<=5%), late shipment rate (<=5%), and fast shipping rate (>=75%, applicable only to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand). Sellers must also comply with the 100% authenticity and 15-day return policies.

8. Indonesia’s VAT Increase Won’t Affect Product Pricing on ShopTokopedia


On December 26, ShopTokopedia and TikTok Indonesia’s e-commerce communications head Aditia Grasio Nelwan confirmed that the upcoming increase in VAT to 12% starting January 2025 will not affect product prices on ShopTokopedia, as pricing decisions are made by sellers. However, the platform is still evaluating whether this change will impact service fees.

9. Ozon to Adjust Rules in 2025


From January 1, 2025, Ozon will include buyback payments in store revenue, which can be used to offset service fees. Other key changes include extending the time for disputing goods acceptance to five days in the FBS model, enhancing courier identification for realFBS Express, and adjusting packaging and shelf life rules for the FBO model. Sellers with insufficient inventory will have seven days (instead of 14) to replenish stocks, and certain advertisements must be categorized according to product type starting January 9, 2025.

10. COSCO Launches New Shipping Route to Indonesia


On December 26, COSCO Shipping’s subsidiary Gold Sea Cruises launched a new YIX route from Yangpu, Hainan, marking another connection between China and ASEAN countries. This route will deploy three 1,700 TEU vessels, serving ports in Yangpu, Guangzhou, Indonesia, and Singapore. It aims to meet the needs of South China’s e-commerce companies and support the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

11. Guangzhou Supports Expansion of New Air Cargo Routes


On December 26, the Guangzhou Municipal Government passed revised measures to promote high-quality development in air transportation. Key changes include increasing subsidies for freighter flights from 50% to 100% of regular scheduled flights to Europe and the U.S., and to 80% for other regions. In addition, the government will offer higher subsidies for new international routes that reach certain flight frequencies, encouraging airlines to operate more flights.
