1.Cross-border Logistics Company Secures Over $20 Million in Total Funding

On December 30, it was reported that cross-border logistics company Jumppoint Logistics Technologies recently secured $3.5 million in an A+ funding round from existing investor MindWorks Ventures. This brings its total financing to over $20 million. The new funds will be used for technological upgrades, enhancing AI algorithms and smart scheduling capabilities, as well as expanding global market reach. The company aims to build a global warehousing and logistics network to offer digital logistics solutions for e-commerce companies. Founded in Hong Kong in 2020, Jumppoint provides solutions across the entire logistics value chain, including same-day and next-day delivery, cold chain distribution, multi-temperature transportation, international express, domestic delivery, warehousing fulfillment centers, and freight forwarding services.

2.Richard Liu Increases Investment by 100 Million RMB in JD Warehousing REIT

On December 30, it was announced that Richard Liu, the founder and chairman of JD.com, has committed to increasing his investment in Harvest JD Warehousing Infrastructure REIT (Fund Code: 508098) by up to 100 million RMB. The increase will take place over the next 24 months through purchases in the secondary market or other approved methods. This move reflects his confidence in the REIT's future development and the long-term value of its logistics infrastructure projects. Harvest JD Warehousing REIT, which went public on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on February 8, 2023, is the first private warehousing logistics REIT in China. Its underlying assets include three JD logistics parks located in Langfang, Wuhan, and Chongqing, with a total building area of approximately 351,000 square meters, all of which are considered high-standard and scarce warehouses.

3.China Logistics Group's Major Move

On December 30, it was reported that China Logistics Group Yunnan Co., Ltd. has been established, with Ji Shuming as its legal representative and a registered capital of 2 billion RMB. Its business scope includes international freight forwarding, international air cargo transportation, IoT application services, big data services, and industrial internet data services. According to Qichacha, the company is co-owned by China Logistics Group Co., Ltd. and Yunnan Provincial Transportation Investment and Construction Group Co., Ltd.

4.Cainiao Opens Sixth Overseas Warehouse in the U.S. West Coast

On December 30, Cainiao, Alibaba’s logistics arm, announced that its shipment volume during the Christmas season has increased by more than 60% year-on-year, with categories like 3D printers seeing over a twofold increase in shipments. To support cross-border merchants during the busy season, Cainiao has launched its sixth overseas warehouse on the U.S. West Coast, located in Los Angeles. The warehouse will provide cross-border merchants and global brands with B2C warehousing and distribution, B2B services, and customized one-stop cross-border supply chain solutions. Cainiao’s global supply chain now operates more than 40 overseas warehouses in 18 countries and regions across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. In North America, Cainiao has formed four major warehouse clusters on the West Coast, East Coast, South, and Southeast, offering 2-3 day delivery capabilities across the U.S.

5.China Post Establishes Drone Company

On December 30, it was reported that China Post has registered a new company called China Post Drone (Beijing) Co., Ltd. The company is wholly owned by China Post Express & Logistics Co., Ltd., with Xu Ning as its legal representative and a registered capital of 100 million RMB. Its business scope includes manufacturing intelligent unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), developing and selling intelligent robots, and providing artificial intelligence hardware and industry application systems.

6.Temu's Semi-Managed Model Expands to Three New Sites

On December 30, Temu announced the upcoming launch of its semi-managed model in Austria, Denmark, and Romania, further deepening its strategic presence in the European market. Since the launch of its semi-managed service in March this year, Temu has rapidly expanded the model to 19 countries, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

7.Amazon Introduces an Improvement

On December 30, Amazon announced that it will integrate its Prime-exclusive discounts into the Price Discount Tool. 9. Ozon's GMV Exceeds 350 Billion Rubles in November

On December 30, Ozon published its sales summary for the peak season, reporting that the platform attracted nearly 75 million visitors in November, driven by the Double 11 and Black Friday shopping events. In November, Ozon’s gross merchandise value (GMV) exceeded 350 billion rubles, with every second buyer purchasing items from the fashion category.

10. DHgate to Discontinue Certain Logistics Routes

On December 30, DHgate announced that it would discontinue two types of logistics routes to improve the buyer's experience. The first type includes seven routes with a high number of disputes and refunds due to false shipments. The second type consists of 74 routes that have been active for over 50 days but have not received any orders.

11.Hangzhou eHub Project Begins Construction

On December 30, the construction of the Hangzhou eHub project, a global smart logistics hub, officially started. The project, with a total investment of about 1 billion RMB, covers an area of 210 acres and will have a total building area of 150,000 square meters. The eHub aims to create an intelligent, efficient, and low-carbon global logistics center. In 2024, Zhejiang Province added nine new international cargo flight routes, bringing the total to 48, of which 25 are based in Hangzhou.
