Introduction:Why is it said that the "Going Abroad" strategy for logistics companies is a top leadership project?

Steven Wang: Currently, the domestic e-commerce market has entered a phase of market saturation, and e-commerce logistics is also in a stage of relative stock competition. In order to seek growth, many domestic logistics companies are turning their attention to overseas markets. With overcapacity in various industries in China today, expanding overseas has become a prevailing trend.

Cross-border e-commerce is just one form of Chinese companies going abroad. Initially, the focus was on the export of products to address the issue of product diversity in foreign markets. Now, with the expansion of e-commerce platforms and industrial clusters, the export of production factors and service capabilities across various Chinese industries is driving this trend. The underlying logic here is China's advantage in industrial clusters, manufacturing capacity, as well as its strengths in internet e-commerce and logistics fulfillment capabilities.

The development of cross-border e-commerce has indeed provided opportunities for logistics companies to expand abroad, but there are also many challenges. These include issues like local operations in foreign markets, cross-border management, cultural differences, and local compliance, which differ significantly from the domestic development environment.

In this process, many of the past successful experiences may not be directly replicable. It's important to view the past successes critically and acknowledge the uncertainty of the future. We must be willing to break from old successful models and embrace new breakthroughs and development in the changing macroeconomic environment.

Going abroad is a long-term strategic consideration. It requires the founder and the core team of the company to get personally involved, maintaining an open-minded attitude, visiting overseas frontline operations, and engaging deeply with overseas customers, suppliers, and employees. By thoroughly understanding customer needs and the differences between domestic and foreign markets, companies can tailor localized strategies for future success.
