On January 10, the State Post Bureau released the 2025 National Postal Work Conference Report. The report emphasizes the implementation of the strategy to expand domestic demand, supporting the deep integration and mutual benefit with new business models such as live-streaming e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce, contributing to over 13 trillion yuan in physical goods online retail sales. In particular, cross-border express delivery is accelerating. Efforts have been made to enhance hub construction, with international sorting centers such as Liège in Belgium successfully commencing operations. Nearly 300 overseas sorting centers and over 300 overseas warehouses have been built. The capacity for trunk line transport has been strengthened, with 16 China-Europe Railway Express postal routes and 25 dedicated sea mail routes now operational. The overseas ground network has been improved, with the volume of international and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan express services growing by 25%.

2. TEMU Global Downloads Near 900 Million


On January 10, it was reported that the global e-commerce app download volume grew from 4.3 billion in 2019 to 6.5 billion in 2024. TEMU maintained its rapid global expansion, topping the download charts in over 40 countries and winning the global e-commerce app download and growth rankings. In 2024, TEMU’s download volume grew by 69%, reaching 550 million, and by the end of 2024, global downloads had nearly reached 900 million.

4. Cainiao Opens 3 New Cross-border Merchant Centers


 On January 10, Cainiao International Express opened three new cross-border merchant centers in Huizhou, Guangdong, Zhengzhou, Henan, and Chengdu, Sichuan, covering cross-border merchants in South China, Central China, and Southwest China. Following the establishment of centers in East and South China, the network is now expanding to Central and Southwest China. Cainiao has now established five cross-border merchant centers across the country, aiming to save 5%-10% in logistics costs for small and medium-sized merchants by customizing high-cost-effective international express solutions.

5. Amazon Plans to Build New Warehouse Distribution Center 


On January 10, Amazon announced plans to construct and operate a new warehouse distribution center in Southern Pines, North Carolina, to expand its logistics network. According to recent filings, Amazon purchased nearly 16 acres of land in the Southern Pines Business Park for $1.06 million. The land is part of an 81-acre parcel owned by RAB Investment Company. This site, near major transport routes and residential areas, will be developed into a last-mile delivery center, receiving and sorting packages to ensure timely delivery to final destinations.

6. TikTok Becomes the Preferred Shopping Platform for U.S. Consumers 


On January 10, Adobe Express released a survey of 1,005 U.S. TikTok users, showing that convenience (53%) and competitive pricing (52%) are the main reasons for using TikTok. The top reasons for not using the platform included trust issues (49%) and unfamiliarity (40%). Respondents listed TikTok as their most frequently used brand discovery platform, followed by YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter). 8. Lufthansa to Acquire 41% Stake in ITA

11. Civil Aviation Industry Completed 8.98 Million Tons of Cargo and Mail in 2024


 On January 10, the Civil Aviation Administration held the 2025 National Civil Aviation Work Conference, disclosing that in 2024, the entire civil aviation industry completed a total of 8.98 million tons of cargo and mail, representing a 22.1% year-on-year increase. International cargo and mail transport grew by 29.3%.
