1. Yida Cross-border Listed on the New Third Board


On January 13, it was reported that Yida Cross-border has been listed on the New Third Board. The company's operating revenue for 2023 and the first quarter of 2024 were RMB 2.908 billion and RMB 1.349 billion, respectively, with net profits attributable to shareholders of RMB 63.33 million and RMB 27.01 million.  


Yida Cross-border is a logistics service provider offering a comprehensive one-stop transportation solution for cross-border e-commerce enterprises, including domestic collection and transit, export customs clearance, international trunk transportation, destination country import clearance, last-mile delivery, and overseas warehousing. The company has established good partnerships with major cross-border e-commerce platforms and independent sites such as TEMU, TikTok Shop, SHEIN, and Wish. According to the public transfer document, the company's top three customers in the first quarter of 2024 were Pinduoduo, TikTok, and EBTON TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED, with sales of RMB 868 million, RMB 204 million, and RMB 19.08 million, respectively.

2. China Post’s International Airmail Routes Reach 1,168


On January 13, Liang Junwen, Senior Industry Director at the Guangdong Provincial Marketing Center for Major Customers of China Post Group, revealed that China Post’s global warehousing spans worldwide. China Post has established 1,168 international airmail routes and opened 22 postal international direct routes, mainly covering Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and other RCEP countries and regions. Among them, four postal aircraft flights originate from Guangdong.  


China Post Overseas Warehousing has set up 15 overseas warehouses in 12 countries and regions, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, France, Australia, and Japan, and integrates postal and express delivery channels in these countries. It offers nearly 100 products for express and less-than-truckload shipments from overseas warehouses, meeting all weight ranges and product categories, and provides comprehensive “last-mile” solutions.

3. China Cargo Airlines to Introduce 10 More Freighters


On January 13, it was reported that China Cargo Airlines recently released a record of investor relations activities, stating that the company plans to introduce five B777-200F freighters and five A330-200 aircraft in 2025-2026. The B777-200F freighters are expected to be delivered by 2026, and the A330-200 aircraft by 2025.  


China Cargo Airlines currently operates six major cargo terminals in Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Tianjin, and Hangzhou. Based on these resources, the company is extending warehousing, distribution, and consolidation services to expand business cooperation with cross-border e-commerce customers. The company plans to strengthen its hub airport cargo terminal layout and resource allocation in key industrial bases such as the Yangtze River Delta and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aiming to meet the needs of national economic development, social consumption, cross-border clients, and air cargo logistics development, while stabilizing and expanding cargo terminal scale and profitability.

4. Haicheng Bonda Adjusts Logistics Project to December 2028  


On January 13, Haicheng Bonda announced adjustments to its “National Logistics Network Expansion and Upgrade Project,” including changes in project implementation entities, locations, content, investment scale, and internal investment structure, and decided to extend the project. The project name will be changed to “Logistics Network Expansion and Upgrade Project.” The originally planned total investment was RMB 246 million, with RMB 224 million intended to come from raised funds. As of December 31, 2024, RMB 34.48 million of the funds had been used, accounting for 15.41%. The remaining raised funds and interest income from financial products amount to RMB 208 million.  


Due to changes in the macroeconomic and market environment in recent years, as well as adjustments in customer demand, the company decided to optimize project implementation to ensure more efficient use of raised funds. The total investment after adjustment is RMB 243 million, and the project is planned to be operational by December 2028. Haicheng Bonda will strengthen its logistics network layout, increase ordinary warehouse leases and equipment investments to meet diversified customer demands and enhance competitiveness. In the first three quarters of 2024, Haicheng Bonda achieved revenue of RMB 7.569 billion, with net profits attributable to shareholders of RMB 82.07 million.

5. Amazon to Open a Second Logistics Center in the Area


On January 13, Amazon Mexico announced that it would open its second logistics center in Guadalajara, Jalisco, which is expected to be operational this year. The new logistics center, covering nearly 100,000 square meters, will be able to store over 750,000 items. This expansion aims to improve delivery efficiency, expand coverage, better serve consumers nationwide, and extend Amazon’s distribution network in western Mexico.

6. Huahu Airport Adds a New International Cargo Route  


On January 13, it was reported that Guangzhou Eurohua had opened a new international cargo route, “Ezhou-Maastricht,” operated by Atlas Air’s B777 freighter, mainly transporting cross-border e-commerce goods and general cargo, including clothing, machinery, and electronic products. The "Ezhou-Maastricht" route is operated by Guangzhou Eurohua International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd., with Atlas Air as the carrier. The cargo primarily includes cross-border e-commerce goods and general cargo such as clothing, machinery, and electronics.

7. Regular Cargo Route from Urumqi to Istanbul Launched  


On January 13, a flight carrying 55 tons of cargo departed from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport for Istanbul, marking the official launch of the first scheduled cargo route between Urumqi and Istanbul. The flight, operated by Turkey’s MNG Airlines, is scheduled to fly four times a week, with a flight duration of about 7 hours each time.  


So far, Urumqi Diwopu International Airport has opened 16 international cargo routes, forming an air logistics network covering Central Asia, West Asia, and Europe.

8. STARLUX Airlines Orders 5 More Airbus Freighters


On January 13, STARLUX Airlines confirmed an order for five additional Airbus A350F freighters, doubling its initial order of five aircraft placed last year. STARLUX Cargo will operate A350F freighters on some of the world's busiest cargo routes. Currently, STARLUX operates 26 Airbus aircraft, including A321neo, A330neo, and A350-900 models. As of the end of November 2024, the new generation of A350 wide-body aircraft had received 1,345 orders from 61 global customers, including 55 A350F freighter orders from 10 leading cargo airlines.

9. TikTok Shop GMV Reaches $1.16 Billion in the U.S.


On January 13, it was reported that TikTok Shop’s gross merchandise value (GMV) in the U.S. reached $1.16 billion, down 3% from the previous month. The average daily sales were $37.31 million. This downward trend appeared after the “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” sales events. The "Cyber Monday" promotion at the beginning of December saw the highest GMV. According to data, the GMV of the top ten categories in December totaled $725 million, a slight decrease of 0.05% compared to November.

10. Chinese Sellers Account for Over 50% of Amazon's Platform


On January 13, research by Marketplace Pulse showed that the proportion of Chinese sellers on Amazon has been growing steadily over the past decade. As of November 2024, Chinese sellers accounted for over 50% of Amazon’s platform, while the market share of U.S. sellers fell to about 45%, with the remaining share occupied by sellers from other countries such as the U.K. and Canada. Walmart data showed that the share of Chinese sellers on its platform had increased from 20% to 30%, reflecting the growing influence of Chinese sellers on global e-commerce platforms.

11. COSCO Shipping Energy Releases 2024 Performance Forecast 


On January 13, COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation Co., Ltd. released its 2024 performance forecast, stating that the group's net profit attributable to shareholders is expected to reach approximately RMB 3.96 billion, an increase of about 17.2% compared to the same period last year (restated). The net profit excluding non-recurring gains and losses is expected to be RMB 3.95 billion, down about 4.4% year-on-year.

12. Taiwan’s Three Major Shipping Companies Report 2024 Revenue


On January 13, Taiwan's three major shipping companies – Evergreen Marine, Yang Ming Marine, and Wan Hai Lines – announced their December and full-year 2024 revenue figures, showing substantial growth.  


Evergreen Marine's December 2024 revenue reached NTD 38.14 billion (approximately $1.16 billion), up 61.4% year-on-year, with full-year revenue reaching NTD 463.51 billion (approximately $14.06 billion), up 67.5% year-on-year.  


Yang Ming Marine's December 2024 revenue was NTD 17.25 billion (approximately $520 million), up 62.6% year-on-year, with full-year revenue reaching NTD 218.87 billion (approximately $6.64 billion), up 64.3% year-on-year.  


Wan Hai Lines' December 2024 revenue was NTD 12.01 billion (approximately $370 million), up 60.9% year-on-year, with full-year revenue reaching NTD 156.36 billion (approximately $4.75 billion), up 66.4% year-on-year.
