1. Air China Cargo Forecasts Nearly 130% YoY Increase in Q1 2025 Net Profit  


On April 9, Air China Cargo announced that it expects its net profit attributable to shareholders for Q1 2025 to range between RMB 516 million and RMB 592 million, marking a year-on-year increase of approximately 99.97% to 129.42%, compared to RMB 258 million in the same period last year.

2. SF Holding Repurchases Shares Worth RMB 859 Million


As of April 7, 2025, SF Holding has repurchased 23.27 million shares since launching its buyback program on April 30, 2024. The repurchased shares represent 0.47% of the company’s total share capital, with a total spend of around RMB 859 million. The buyback price ranged from RMB 33.79 to RMB 41.2 per share, with an average transaction price of RMB 36.91.

3. DHL Express Opens New Service Center in Ganzhou


On April 9, DHL Express announced the official launch of its Ganzhou Service Center, becoming the first international express company to establish operations in the city. Located in the Ganzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, the center is strategically positioned near key industrial customers tied to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Local shipments will be initially processed in Ganzhou, then sent to DHL’s shared service center in Guangzhou for further handling, and finally exported via DHL’s Hong Kong Central Asia Hub.

4. Brazil Post Reaches Preliminary Cooperation Intent with YTO Express


On April 9, Juliana Picoli Agatte, Director and General Manager of Brazil Post (Correios), visited YTO Express’s Shanghai headquarters along with representatives from the New Development Bank. YTO President Pan Shuimiao hosted the delegation and guided tours of its big data command center and consolidation hub. The two parties held in-depth discussions on international logistics networks, green logistics, digital management, and automation technologies, reaching a preliminary cooperation agreement.

5. TikTok Shop Launches Logistics Services in Europe


TikTok is expanding its social commerce footprint in Europe with the official rollout of its logistics service, including “Fulfilled by TikTok” (FBT) and intra-European logistics solutions. FBT is now live in Spain and Germany, allowing local sellers to outsource storage, order prep, and delivery—similar to Amazon’s FBA. Already operating in the UK, FBT supports parcels up to 20kg and allows sellers flexibility over inventory levels. The intra-EU logistics service helps reduce customs friction and transit times, supporting cross-border e-commerce.

6. Amazon Launches Desktop Version of “Haul”


Amazon’s budget-friendly “Haul” service is now available on desktop. Originally launched in beta last November via the Amazon Shopping app, Haul offers ultra-low-priced products—mostly under $20—with typical delivery times of 1–2 weeks. Orders over $25 get free shipping, and returns are free within 15 days for purchases over $3, utilizing Amazon’s network of over 8,000 return drop-off points across the U.S.

7. Lazada Vietnam Adjusts Cross-border Commission Rates


Lazada Vietnam announced a new commission fee structure for cross-border stores, effective April 15. The free shipping program will be merged into the platform’s basic services, making the benefit free of charge for all cross-border sellers. Previously, non-Mall sellers were charged a total of 14.6% (6.6% base commission + 8% shipping fee), while Mall sellers paid 15.7% (7.7% + 8%).

8. New Fifth Freedom Cargo Route: Riyadh–Zhengzhou–Liège


On April 9, a Saudi Airlines Cargo B747 freighter landed at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport from Riyadh and later departed for Liège, Belgium. This marks the official launch of the Riyadh–Zhengzhou–Liège route, operated under fifth freedom rights. The airline will operate two weekly flights (Mondays and Fridays), primarily carrying electronics and cross-border e-commerce goods.

9. Tianjin Cargo Airlines Launches New Bangkok–Guiyang Route


Tianjin Cargo Airlines recently launched a full-freighter route from Bangkok to Guiyang using a Boeing 737-800F carrying 18 tons of Thai Monthong durians. This is Guiyang’s second direct Southeast Asia cargo route and will operate three times per week, providing a stable logistics bridge for trade between Guizhou and Thailand.

10. Multiple New Cargo Routes to Launch from Chengdu in April  


Chengdu is set to open or resume multiple intercontinental passenger and cargo routes this April. Notably, on April 26, a new all-cargo route to Dubai will launch, marking the first direct freighter connection between Chengdu and the Middle East. Operated by Air China Cargo, this route will join Chengdu’s other freighter services to Chicago, Amsterdam, Paris, and Liège. The cargo will primarily include electronics and e-commerce goods, helping strengthen links between Chengdu’s tech industry and Middle Eastern markets.

11. China’s Port Throughput Data for Jan–Feb 2025 Released


In the first two months of 2025, China’s major ports handled 2.67 billion tons of cargo, a 2.3% YoY increase. Domestic and foreign trade volumes rose 2.4% and 1.9%, respectively. Container throughput reached 53.54 million TEUs, up 8.2% YoY. According to China Customs, total imports and exports in the same period reached $909.37 billion, down 2.4%—the worst performance since the pandemic in 2020. Exports were up 2.3%, hitting a record high, while imports fell 8.4%.

12. Wuhan’s Cross-border E-commerce Park to Open in H1 2026


The main structure of the Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone has been completed, and the park is expected to become operational in the first half of 2026. Covering a total floor area of 108,000 square meters, the park is being developed by Wuhan Chegu City Development Group and will feature an R&D incubator, four standard factory buildings, a warehouse, and supporting infrastructure.
